New Yelm-Based Class Offers Opportunity to Enhance Artistic Skills
Good at drawing but always wanted to try your hand at painting? Enjoy watercolors but looking to branch out your brush to include oil painting? With Art Exploration: Drawing and Painting, a new Yelm-based class offering from South Puget Sound Community College, comes the opportunity to explore and expand the palette.
Perfect for both beginners and advanced students, Art Exploration: Drawing and Painting offers the chance to experiment with techniques, with the artist choosing the medium. Using oils, students will learn how to choose and mix colors as well as different techniques to produce various textures. Watercolor is also an option. Many techniques are demonstrated for each medium with accompanying in-depth instruction.
Art Exploration: Drawing and Painting (CE 457N) is offered from Jan. 14 through March 4 at 302 Binghampton Street West in Yelm. The class runs from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesdays. The class aims to create a relaxed environment where students can focus on individual creativity while finding their artistic niche. Instructor Cari Von Sternberg, who studied with classical master Roberto Lupetti, will teach the class. Her work can be viewed at www.fineart9.com. The class costs $100.
